Martin, Joan Bower Joan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Her proudest accomplishments were Her four Children and ten grandchildren who called her "Mimi." She will live Forever in their hearts. loan Bower Martin was born on Jan. 8, 1942 in San Angelo, TX. She grew up in Ozona, TX and moved to Dallas when she was 11 years old. She attended University Park grade school and Graduated from Highland Park HS in 1960. She attended Texas Tech University. She married her high school sweetheart Charles Maillot Martin, Sr. on Aug. 16, 1962. While raising a Family, Joan and Charles enjoyed playing tennis, watching sporting events, hosting supper clubs, traveling and planning Family holiday celebrations. Joan found her passion as a volunteer with (NWC) Northwood Woman's Club where she served on various committees. Joan's greatest joy was her family. Joan is survived by her husband of 52 Years, Charles Maillot Martin, Sr., Charles Maillot Martin, Jr. and 3 children Haley, Chase and Maddie; her daughter Kimberly Martin Grant, husband Robert, their sons Alex and Marshall; Her daughter Joanie Martin Price, Husband Gary and their two children Martin and Emma; her son Edwin Kevin Lee Martin, wife Tracie Edson Martin and sons Keegan, Preston and Emory. Viewing at Sparkman-Hillcrest Sunday, August 17, 7-9pm. Service at Church of the Incarnation Monday, August 18, 2PM followed by private family graveside service at Sparkman-Hillcrest near the lake. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her honor to Our Friends Place, 2501 Oak Lawn Ave ste500 Dallas 75219
