Dunn, JoAnn Alexander JoAnn Alexander Dunn, or "Jodi" as many knew her, was born in Brownfield, Texas on April 21, 1927 to Earl Gladstone and Margaret Langhorne Alexander, and went to be with her Savior on August 21, 2014. Before Jodi turned three, she moved with her parents and three older sisters to Plainview Texas where she grew up. Her college experience began with Belhaven College, Texas Christian University, and then she graduated from "Ole Miss" in 1948. Her young adult years were spent teaching in west Texas before being swept off her feet by Byron G. Dunn, "Rusty". He married "Miss Jodi" in August of 1950. A long time resident of Dallas, Texas, her interests included substitute teaching, and almost any experience to advance her historical interest including membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. She also enjoyed a rich experience in retail, working more than 18 years at Horchow Finale. She was an active resident of the Plaza at Edgemere for several years, where she continued to make friends as only Jodi could do. She truly enjoyed getting to know you. If she ever met a stranger, they were not a stranger for long. Without question, Jodi loved her own family. Her life centered around family and she was devoted to each in a way that made us all feel special. She was without question, the matriarch of our family. For those of you that knew her, you know this is true. For those who never met her, you missed a wonderful opportunity to be blessed by her friendship. Jodi is preceded in death by her husband, and survived by her children, Margaret Ann Colia and her husband Milton, son W. Byron Dunn and his wife Pam, and Katsy Collins and her husband Bill. Grandchildren include W. Byron Dunn Jr. and his wife Nellie, Jennifer Carlson and her husband Zane, Andrew Colia and his wife Hilary, Matt Colia, Zach and Molly Collins. Great grandchildren include Ace, Faith, and Chapel Carlson and W. Byron Dunn III.
