Barrows, Richard Richard D. Barrows, age 82 and a resident of Garland, TX, for 35 years, passed away August 23, 2014. He was born January 15, 1932, in Adams, MN, to Donald M. and Louise Marie (Anderson) Barrows. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed a long career at Payless Cashways and the Building Materials Industry. He was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Dallas, TX, and was a dedicated volunteer in the AIDS Community. Richard was known for his great sense of humor and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years: LaVonne Barrows of Richardson, TX; children: Rick Barrows and wife Carol of Ft. Mojave, AZ, Debbie Briones and husband Ozzie of Dallas, TX, and Randie Barrows and wife Francesca of Sheboygan, WI; grandchildren: Marcy Barrows and Austin Barrows; great grandson: Trent Brock; and three sisters: Darlene Ask, Betty Boysen and Connie Johnson. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Beverly Barrows; a son: Ryan Barrows; a brother: Stanley Barrows; and by his parents: Don and Louise Barrows. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to King of Glory Lutheran Church or AIDS Services of North Texas.
