ALEXANDER, AIA, ROBERT L. DALLAS -- Robert L. Alexander, AIA, 62, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 5, 2008 while vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Service: 3:30 p.m., Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Robert L. Alexander Endowment, Texas Tech University College of Architecture, P.O. Box 42091, Lubbock, Texas 79409. Mr. Alexander was born November 21, 1945 in Fort Worth, to R. L. and Elsa Palmer Alexander. He was a partner in the architecture and interior design firm of Alexander + Kienast, founded in 1995. Mr. Alexander received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Texas Tech University in 1969 and was a registered architect in 18 states. He was also a registered interior designer in Texas. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Texas Society of Architects and the Oak Lawn Committee, City of Dallas. His many diverse interests included collecting vintage pens and attending pen shows across the U.S. He was a member of the Dallas Pen Club. Mr. Alexander loved music of all kinds, especially the blues, and he also enjoyed NASCAR. Mr. Alexander loved and was much loved by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsa and R. L. Alexander. Survivors: Sons, Scott and Christopher Alexander, of McKinney and Dallas; granddaughters, Meegan and Kyrstin of Melissa; sister, Sondra Kay Goodman and husband, Bob of Sarasota, Fla.; nephews, Jim French and wife, Alyssa, of Denver, Colo., and Brian Hutson and wife, Beth of Fort Worth; and many cousins.
