Perry, Patricia Carberry Bowen Pat was born on May 1, 1928, to Kathryn Carberry Bowen and her husband Arnold E. Bowen in Newark, New Jersey, and went to heaven on February 1, 2009. Her body has been donated to Southwestern Medical Center at the University of Texas in Dallas for research on pancreatic cancer. She died at home with her husband, George and their four children, Sally, Susan, Anne and Tobe at her side. Pat graduated from Skidmore College at Saratoga Springs, New York, in 1949. She married George on December 23, 1950. Mobil Oil transferred them to Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, France, Venezuela, New York, Iran, Norway, and back to Louisiana. In 1978, George joined Loffland Brothers Co. and they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They retired to Dallas in 1990. Pat loved plants and flowers. While the family was sightseeing at the Eiffel Tower or the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pat was carefully checking the fauna and flora. A neighbor once agreed to take care of her indoor plants while Pat was on vacation. Upon her return, the neighbor remarked, "When Pat asked for my help, I didn't realize how big of a job it would be. When I went over to the house I discovered there were 43 plants!" A memorial service will be held in Dallas at a later date convenient to the family. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Willed Body Program at Southwestern Medical Center (214-648-3111) in Dallas in memory of Patricia B. Perry. She is survived by her husband, George and four children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
