Overstreet, Lee Ontyne Born June 20, 1937 in Taft, TX to Tom and Dorothy Overstreet. She died peacefully at home on June 17, 2010 of a brain tumor. She grew up in Garland and attended the University of North Texas. Lee was a landscape architect in Dallas throughout her working career. She worked for Howard Garrett, Lamberts, and Naud Burnett & Partners. Lee was very active in her church, The Cathedral of Hope in Dallas and was a member of the Board of Directors. She is survived by her life partner, Judy Pringle, brothers Jon Overstreet of Post, TX & Jan Overstreet of Chapin, SC and their wives, Sheri & Effie, nephews Todd, Brad, Scott & Brent Overstreet, and great nieces & nephews Reese, Taylor, Devyn, and Chris Overstreet. Viewing & visitation will be Sun., June 20 from 4:006:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland. A private graveside service for family will be at Restland on Monday at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Rd., Dallas 75235, on Monday, June 21, at 2:00 p.m. A peace garden at the chapel will be named for Lee. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Cathedral of Hope with a notation that the donation is in honor of the Lee Overstreet Garden Fund.
