Frederick Dowd Obituary

Dowd, Frederick E, Jr Of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at the age of 77. Fred was born in Dallas to Thelma and Fred Dowd on Thanksgiving Day in 1932. He attended Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, and graduated in 1952. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956 on active duty, and from 1956 to 1959 and 1973 to 1989 in the Naval Reserve. He worked at Texas Instruments as a master technician for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Fred is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Barbara. He is survived by his son Frederick Dowd III, his daughter Valerie Dowd Webb, and her two sons, Andrew Webb and Robert Webb. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, July 13, at 11am, at the Farmers Branch Church of Christ, 3035 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Fred's memory to the American Cancer Society - www.cancer.org.

My condolences to you and your family. Fred was my client and colleague for many years. Each time I spoke with Fred would be a true joy with Fred always saying something to get me laughing. Fred was always encouraging me to work hard but to remember to enjoy life.
