James R. Gartrell Obituary
Gartrell, James R. 60, of Cleburne, long-time accountant with Lone Star Gas, TXU, and Atmos Energy in Dallas, died Friday, September 10, 2010 at his home after a two year illness. Born May 24, 1950 in Tyler, Texas, he is the son of Bill and Gnell Baker Gartrell. He grew up in Louisiana, Mesquite, and Irving, Texas. He served in the US Army during Viet Nam, graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas and was a Certified Public Accountant. He was a member of the Dallas Area Rocket Society and had received their Rocket Scientist of the Year award. On May 13, 1972 he married Gail Lee in Irving. They lived in Rockwall for 8 years prior to moving to Cleburne 5 years ago. Survivors include his wife Gail of Cleburne; daughters Cindy Quevedo of Cleburne and Missy Reilly of Gettysburg, PA; his parents of Irving; sisters Marylyn Jeffcoat of Trinidad, TX and Alice Hartnett of Covington, TX; brothers, John Gartrell of Alvarado, TX and Rodger Gartrell of Grand Prairie; and four grandchildren, Blake Gartrell, Aaron Millicovsky, Sarah Reilly and Liam Reilly. The family will receive friends 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Jenkins officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
