Koslan, Floyd Ira ARLINGTON -- Floyd Ira Koslan, 72, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 in Arlington. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington with Reverend Monsignor Phillip Johnson celebrant. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. Pallbearers: Herb McCauley, Jerry Rayburn, John DeFazio, Jim Turkington, Gil Floyd and Dan Cowell. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the
or charity of one's choice. Floyd was born on April 22, 1938 in Lincoln, TX to Ernest and Elizabeth Muecke Koslan. He was raised in Giddings, graduated from Giddings High School in 1958, and attended the University of Texas in Austin. Floyd has resided in Arlington since 1974 and is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Arlington Sr. Men's Golf Association. He retired as Sr. Vice President of CNA Insurance Co. Floyd enjoyed hunting, golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors: Wife of 51 years, Nancy Anne Koslan; son, Steve Koslan and wife, Angie; daughters, Suzanne Koslan-Phillips and husband, Steve and Shelley Koslan-Joiner and husband, Mike; sisters, Millie Spikes, Velma Porterfield and husband, Hardy and Delta Harrison and husband, Gene; grandchildren, Christopher Dickenson, Chelsea Dickenson, Rachel Koslan and Sam Joiner; 4 step-grandchildren, Mark and Chris Phillips, Celina Alvarez, and Stephanie Deese; and 4 step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sharon Naumann and husband, Stuart; brother-in-law, Bill Docekal and wife, Barbara; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
