Mills, Mildred Mildred Deloyce Salmon Mills.Sunrise: 01/17/1920. Sunset: 12/21/2010. The 6th of 7 children born to Ealy W. Salmon and Floy Bond Salmon of Fleetwood, OK, Mildred graduated from Terrell, OK, high school and Oklahoma College for Women with a degree in Child Psychology (1942), subsequently teaching for 32 years in Saint Jo, Electra, Midland, and Burkburnett, TX, elementary schools, retiring in 1980. Mildred married Cecil A. Mills on 01/14/1943, at the 1st Baptist Church in Saint Jo, a bonding that lasted 65 years until Cecil's death in 2008. Preceded in death also by her brothers, Weldon and Lucian; sisters, Virginia, Tommie, and Marguerite. Mildred is survived by her sister, Bettye Dunlap of Waco; son, Tom Mills and wife Debbie of Belton, MO; daughters, Terri Jost and husband Terry of Tyler, and Cecelia Culpepper and her husband Darryl of Garland; grandchildren, Kristin Holder of Rockwall, Kyle Culpepper of San Diego, CA, Leigh Ann Moore of Keller, Jennifer Hill of Tyler, Marisa Vaughn of Belton, MO, Alicia Kershner of Redding, CA, and Jonathan Mills of Belton, MO; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mildred was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Waco, TX, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and a lifetime member of the PTA. A private family memorial will be held at the Culpepper's home following Mildred's burial at the Dallas-FT. Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Methodist Children's Home (Waco), Cal Farley's Boys Ranch (Amarillo) of The Scottish Rite Hospital (Dallas). The family is most grateful for the staff of Autumn Leaves of Garland Alzheimer's Assisted Living Home for the love and care they gave to Mildred.
