Parker, David Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, coach and steadfast man of God, David Shaw Parker, was taken from this earth in the beautiful mountains of Beaver Creek, Colorado straight to heaven on Feb. 28, 2011. He was skiing with his bride of 25 years, DeLynn, son, Bo, and many friends from Trinity Christian Academy when he suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest while on the slopes. We find great comfort in knowing that he skied straight into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with no earthly suffering. Funeral Services will be 2PM Saturday March 5, 2011 at Parkway Hills Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, with Pastor Sam Dennis officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday March 4, 2011 at the church. A private family interment will take place at Old Celina Cemetery, Celina, Texas. David was born March 12, 1962 in Abilene, to Jimmy and Dottie Parker. David graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene, TX in 1980 and Baylor University with a BS in Geology in 1985. While at Baylor he was a member of Kappa Omega Tau fraternity, served as President of Baylor Student Foundation, and was recipient of the President's Leadership Scholarship. He received a graduate marketing degree from SMU in 1990. While at Baylor he met and later married the love of his life, DeLynn Speck from San Antonio on March 1, 1986. David and DeLynn were blessed with four wonderful sons. He worked in the paper industry for 18 years, serving as President of TUFCO Technologies, and then later owning his own company, Train Paper Co. His outstanding organizational and leadership skills led him into the commercial real estate industry where he worked for Holt Lunsford Commercial since 2004, currently serving as COO and Partner. He was on the Board of Directors of The Real Estate Council (TREC). He was a faithful member of Parkway Hills Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacons and chairman of the Board of Trustees. David was a man of many talents and passions that he generously shared with his many friends and family. His love of the outdoors was evidenced by the countless hunting and fishing trips with friends and his four sons, Austin (22), Travis (20), Sam (16) and Bo (12). He was a gifted baseball coach and found tremendous joy in coaching successful Texas Thunder and DBAT teams over the years. He enjoyed cooking and shared that gift with his family and many friends. He had a passionate love for music, was an amazing dancer and was always the life of the party. His friends describe him as the most real and sincere person they ever met. His humble spirit was a blessing to all he knew. He is preceded in death by his dad Jimmy and his sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife DeLynn of 25 years; four sons Austin, Travis, Sam and Bo; his mother Dottie; three sisters Cindy Parker, Susan Montalvo and husband Robert, Dr. Elizabeth Parker; a brother Dr. James Parker; Aunts and Uncle Jane and Howard Parker and Dolores Shaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
