Elizabeth Bell Obituary
Bell, Elizabeth Chesnut Elizabeth Chesnut Bell passed away May 24, 2011 in Plano. Born in Washington, D.C. on December 9, 1942 to the late Charles and Mary Chesnut. Elizabeth spent her childhood in Miami, Oklahoma with her sisters Susan Chesnut and Linda Chesnut Coker, as well as her brother Chuck Chesnut. She graduated from Tulsa University with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. After graduating, she worked for IBM as a programmer and trainer. Elizabeth was a loving wife to her husband of 42 years, Bill Bell. Together, they raised four children: Lisa Bell Reeves of Plano, Stuart Bell of Dallas, Elaine Bell Payne of Richardson, and Kathy Bell Lietzke of Austin. Elizabeth took great pleasure in being a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren: Nathan Lietzke, Lauren Lietzke, Meredith Payne, Preston Payne, Libby Payne, and Liam Bell. Elizabeth was also a loyal friend to many and played an active role in many clubs and organizations, including Kappa Kappa Gamma and the Junior League. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Plano Public Library or the Miami (OK) Public Library to honor her love of reading, or the Houston Area Parkinson's Society, where she volunteered for years in memory of her father. The memorial service, where all are welcome to wear blue to reflect her favorite color, will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 27 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano with a reception following at the church reception hall. A second memorial service in Houston will be scheduled at a later date.
