Floyd Scott Obituary

Scott, Floyd Evert May 7, 1923 - August 5, 2011 He was a pillar of responsibility his entire life. Starting with his service to the nation, he served in the Pacific Theatre as a Naval Corpsman. Returning from the war, he married long-time sweetheart, Janette Knight and they built their first home in the Fair Park area and began a family. His long service with Merck again highlighted a career of responsibility. Important to the whole family was Urban Park UMC. He felt his most important responsibility was to his family especially to his wife, Janette of 61 years who predeceased him in 2007. He is survived by son, Paul Scott & wife Ruth. Daughter, Connie Desmond & husband Bob. Grandchildren, Leasa Milligan, Glenn & Misty Scott, Derek & Stephanie Freeman and Phillip Scott. Great Grandchildren, Leigha Milligan, Maddie Freeman and Chase Scott. He is also survived by his brother, Albert Scott and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, August 11th 6-8 pm at the Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Grove Hill. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Habitat for Humanity or Heifer International.
