Loring (Meyers), Ruth M. Ruth M. Loring (Meyers) was born in 1946 in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Dallas, Tx and attended high school at North Dallas High. It was there she met her high school sweetheart who became her husband, life partner and best friend - Ben E. Loring, Jr. After a two year battle with cancer, "Mama Ruth" went home to be with our Lord in heaven on November 1, 2011. Ruth invested her life into serving people both personally and professionally. Ruth had a PhD in education and was actively involved in teaching and curriculum development in the field of critical thinking. Ruth also ministered alongside her husband in pastoral ministry for many years. In addition to serving multiple churches as senior pastor in both Texas and Oklahoma, they served the homeless in Dallas and planted a church in Dallas now called Antioch Community Church. Ruth was a passionate and faithful disciple of Jesus. She was a spiritual foundation for many lives and people she touched. In all this she was a strong, kind and compassionate - daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her parents, George "Buck" and Roberta Meyers; her husband, Ben Loring, Jr.; her daughter, Rebekah McBride; her son, John Loring; and her extended family including 7 grandchildren.
