Mary Josephine Johnson Lee Obituary
Lee, Mary Josephine Johnson Mary Josephine Johnson Lee, 94 went home to her loving Lord and Savior on February 3, 2012. Mary Jo was born July 23, 1917 to George A. and Esther M. Babcock Johnson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Howard E. Lee on October 6, 1939. Graduating in 1939 from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. An avid community volunteer, Mary Jo was past president of the Prestonwood Republican Women's Club. She was a two term member of the Dallas Planning Commission and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School class. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, George B. Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Jo Huddleston of Yelm, WA, daughters and son-in-laws, Sally Ann and Henry Urquhart of Richardson, TX and Kathy and Lee Portwood of Tyler, TX, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and foreign exchange student "daughter" Dr. Kerrie Eyding of New South Wales, Australia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, TX 75219 or . Viewing will be Sunday February 5, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private entombment will be followed by a memorial service at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church Chapel, 9015 Plano Road, Dallas, TX at 2:00 p.m Monday February 6, 2012
