Sorrells, Jean Mercer Age 84, of Dallas, TX, passed away May 24th, 2012. She was born August 26, 1927 in Dallas, TX to Hugh and Mary Louise Mercer. She grew up in Oak Cliff where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Clayton Sorrells. They had a wonderful life together. She was a member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. She was an antique dealer and at one time, co-owner of the Fife and Drum in the Oak Lawn area. She was skilled at needlepoint and made Christmas stockings for all her family members. She loved entertaining and having lunch with friends and family. S & S Tea Room was one of her favorite spots. She loved shopping, not for herself, but for finding just the right gift for that special someone. She loved her family and will be truly missed. She is survived by her two daughters, Becky O'Donnell of Dallas, TX and Lucy Bee and husband Benny of Whitefish, MT; grandchildren, Chris O'Donnell of Dallas, Coley O'Donnell and wife Cara of Boston, MA, Holly Sutton and husband Pat of Dallas, TX, Joe Glickman III of Whitefish, MT, Kate Sowl and husband Eric of Lodi, CA, Hillary Glickman of Boston, MA, and Cassie Bee of Seattle, WA; great grandchildren, Sophie Carter and Walker Sutton, Matthew and Alex Sowl, and Katie O'Donnell and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Mary Mercer; husband, Charles Sorrells; and sister, Betty Chess. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 29th at Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas.
