Margery Ann Woodberry

Woodberry, Margery Ann Margery Ann Woodberry ("Sandy") passed away at home with her family in Dallas, Texas on August 19, 2012. She was born in Boston, MA on July 1, 1931. She grew up in Arlington, MA, and graduated from Arlington High School. She attended Harvard College on a scholarship, and graduated at age 20. She was a member of the Junior League and the Sea Island Club. Sandy met her husband Paul Woodberry on Memorial Day weekend in 1954 when his sisters introduced them. Paul realized that weekend that the beautiful, intelligent and kind Sandy was the woman he wanted to marry. They were married in Arlington on May 7, 1955. Sandy was a wonderful wife and an inspirational mother for her children. Her religion and her family were most important to her. She and Paul had five children and fifteen grandchildren. Sandy and Paul lived in New York, NY, Greenwich, CT, Atherton, CA, Lompoc, CA, Hanover, NH, Sea Island, GA and Dallas, TX. Their favorite place for family vacations was Sea Island. They enjoyed travel and visited twenty five foreign countries. Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Haley Brennan and John Francis Brennan, her sister Katherine Brennan Kellogg, and her daughter Laura Woodberry Jessiman. Sandy is survived by her husband Paul, to whom she was married for 57 years. She is also survived by her son Seth and his wife Jenna Woodberry of Dallas, TX, her daughter Lesley and her husband Mark Robinson of London, UK, her daughter Sarah Woodberry of Darien, CT, her son Sturgis and his wife Carolyn Woodberry of Darien, CT, her son-in-law Alistair Jessiman of Darien, CT, her brother John and his wife Mary Alice Brennan of Rockland, ME, her brother-in-law Lawrence Kellogg of Livermore, CA, and her close friend and personal assistant Patricia Roush. Sandy is also survived by her grandchildren, Haley, Matthew, Emma, Margaret and Abigail Woodberry of Dallas, TX, Austen, Gordon, Malcolm and Gwenivere Robinson of London, UK, Paul, C.J., and Elizabeth Woodberry of Darien, CT, and Hugh, Andrew and Margaret Jessiman of Darien, CT. Sandy was always a devout Catholic. She received the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick on August 13. The family prays that she is already in Heaven. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church in Darien, CT at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8. Sandy will be buried in Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien beside the grave of her daughter Laura. The family respectfully requests that no flowers be sent
