Johnson, Janette Janette Johnson, prominent Dallas attorney, passed away on Aug. 27, 2012. Born on March 28, 1949, she died peacefully at her home. Janette is survived by her parents: Arthur and Florence Johnson and her twin sister, Joanna Johnson, of California; as well as her brother's family, Mr. & Mrs. Larry Johnson, of South Carolina. Janette graduated from UCLA in 1971 and Antioch School of Law in 1976. She was licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, California, and Dallas. In all professional endeavors after completing law school, Janette chose to represent workers - first with the NLRB, then the EEOC. In 1990, she opened her law firm and private practice in Dallas. She was a 20 plus year member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, and served on its board in the 1990s. In 2008, she was honored with the Sarah T. Hughes Award in recognition of her professional achievements. Janette particularly enjoyed collaborating with fellow attorneys and being a mentor to new attorneys. She loved travel and adventure, and meeting new people. She travelled the world skiing, diving and hiking; sharing many memorable trips with family and friends.Janette died of breast cancer, after a valiant five-year fight.
