Sharp, Lorld Glen Lorld Glenn "Red" Sharp of Irving passed away September 21, 2012. He was born July 4, 1915 in Soloman Rapids, KS, but grew up in Artesia, NM where his parents had the only grocery store for many years. Red worked his way through college and graduated with a Master's Degree in chemistry from Texas Tech University. He had a fabulous career with Mobil Oil as a research chemist for forty years and holds numerous patents for procedures he developed for the recovery of oil. After retirement, Red greatly enjoyed singing and performing on the guitar and dancing with the Irving Lively Swingers. Red was married for 47 years to Fanylouise McMullan until her death and was married for 15 years to his second wife, Mickye Davis. He was a kind, generous, funny, and brilliant man with many friends throughout his long life who will miss him and remember him always. Red was preceded in death by both of his wives and is survived by his step-daughters Karen Sharp, Joan Carlile, and Linda McCoy; niece Ludean Belle; nephew Edward Sharp, and special friend, Joyce Lovell, who lovingly nursed him in his last illness; many grandchildren, great great grandchildren; great nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Brown's Memorial Chapel.
