Rudd III, William Lee age 60, was born on August 5, 1952 in Waskom, TX. He passed away peacefully from complications of ALS on November 16, 2012 in Dallas, TX. Billy was predeceased by his father, William Lee Rudd Jr. and his mother, Patricia Downs Rudd. Billy is survived by the love of his life, his wife Nancy Tucker Rudd, daughters Kristen Rudd Hillman and her husband, Sterling Allen Hillman and their children, Will and Hunt; Janey Rudd Steward, and her husband Michael Walker Steward and their children, Blakely and Layla; as well as Margaret Tucker Rudd; his sisters, Della Howell, Donna Walden and Kathryn Salpietra; and many very beloved extended family members and good friends. Billy grew up in Waskom, TX and attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, the Silver Spurs organization and the Longhorn Foundation. After college, Billy moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, where he married Nancy Tucker. Together they moved to Dallas, TX where they raised their three daughters. Billy enjoyed working alongside his father in the oil and gas business. Those who met Billy know that he was passionate about his family and friends, Longhorn football, golf, hunting and his country, but above all, he loved the Lord. He was an active member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed Bible study and ushering on Sunday mornings. Billy will be remembered for his sharp mind and words of wisdom, his sense of humor, his selfless nature, his loyalty, his integrity and his incredible faith. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the members of Maxim Healthcare and Jeuett Respiratory Care who helped Billy so lovingly over the past three and a half years. Additionally, all the friends and family who so abundantly supported him and have been a true testament to the love of Christ. The burial will be held graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19 at Restland Cemetery in Waskom, TX. A memorial service celebrating Billy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Park Cities Presbyterian Church or the ALS Association, North Texas chapter.
