William Saul Obituary
Saul, William Robert William "Bill" Robert Saul, 61, passed away Monday November 19, 2012 in Ashville, North Carolina. Born in Albany, New York, Bill lived in Dallas, Texas for 24 years, and most recently in Asheville, North Carolina. Bill attended State University of New York College at Oswego graduating with a B.A. in Psychology, Sociology. Bill worked at Glazers Wholesale Distributors for 20 years, most recently as Vice President of Strategic Account Education and Development. Bill was responsible for the creation of training concepts to support sales initiatives with customers at the national account level. Bill developed Glazer's Beverage University, an e-learning website providing 15 hours of product knowledge training for wine, distilled spirits, and malt beverages. Prior to that he was Vice President of Training and Development for Glazer's, responsible for all aspects of training of company personnel in their 12 states of operation. Bill volunteered for several non-profit organizations; Bill was recognized with an award for his work at Jewish Family Services. He also offered his time at the Volunteer Center of North Texas where he created online training materials and public service announcements addressing emergency preparedness. Bill Saul was the wonderful and loving husband of Gwynne Saul. They were married in 2000 in Dallas, TX and they knew instantly that they had found their true basherts. Bill was a loving and devoted father to his sons Cameron and Bennett Saul, and a caring and affectionate step-dad to Derek and Dylan Lankford. And, Bill was adored by his precious and adoring beagle, Shamus. Bill loved photography, and his nature photos brought beauty and joy to everyone who was fortunate to view them. He was smart, creative, a genius with words, and so funny! He loved to make everyone laugh and his was contagious! He was admired by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed; his passing has left a deep void in all of our lives. May he rest in peace and know that those he left behind will love him always. Preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Lucille Saul of Albany, New York Survivors: Loving wife Gwynne Abzug Saul, sons: Cameron and Bennett Saul of Austin, Texas, Step-sons: Derek Lankford of Long Beach, California and Dylan Lankford of Dallas, Texas, dearest sister: Marilyn VanGelder of East Berne, New York, beloved cousins: Carole and Gerard Sweeney of Dover, Massachusetts, beloved aunt: Evelyn "Toni" Saul of Albany, New York, dear cousin: Alma Weiner of Albany, New York, endearing nephew: Jason VanGelder of East Berne, New York. Graveside Services will be Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. A reception for friends and family who would like to celebrate Bill's life will be held immediately following the service at Temple Emanu-El, Linz Hall, 8500 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas.
