Halcolm Crawford Obituary
Crawford, Halcolm S. Halcolm Smith Crawford was born in Wilson, Oklahoma on May 27, 1922 to parents, Hugh E. and Lena Grace Crawford. He attended Lincoln Elem., Ardmore Junior High and Ardmore High School and graduated in 1940. Halcolm attended Juliard School of Music and Kansas City Conservatory Music, both on scholarship. He graduated Oklahoma City University with a major in Physics. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a "regular" for four years before he began his 57 year service with the United States Government, Department of Defense and intelligence agencies. He was a lifetime Eagle Scout; member of Phi Mi Alpha and Tri Beta Fraternities. He attended the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and was a Mason. Halcolm is survived by his two sons, Hal D and Scott Crawford. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 1:00pm at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm. Halcolm follows his wife, Vera May, in rest and will be buried with her at Restland Memorial Park.
