Nicolaisen, Mildred Kathryn "Kay" Kay Nicolaisen was born November 29, 1924 in Pomona, CA. She and her family sub sequentially moved to Dallas, Texas where she attended Woodrow Wilson High School. She then attended Southern Methodist University majoring in Latin and Greek. She married James Glenmont Nicolaisen and they soon had 3 children, Anna Kathryn Nicolaisen-Strouss, John William and James Ellsworth Nicolaisen who was killed in Viet Nam in 1968. They moved back to California some years later to be with friends and family. Kay returned to Dallas where she worked as an Administrative Secretary. In 2005 she moved to San Marcos, TX in an Assisted Living Complex remaining there until her passing on December 25, 2012. Kay loved to play in duplicate bridge tournaments and did so for many years. Kay was sweet and generous and will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughter Anna Kathryn Nicolaisen-Strouss and her husband Mark; a grandson James William Nicolaisen and a granddaughter Hayley Nicolaisen. A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Northwest Highway Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX.
