Richard Rabb

Rabb, Richard G. Richard (Dick) G. Rabb, 75, of Arlington, Texas, passed away from cancer on December 24, 2012, in Rochester, MN while surrounded by his family. He was born in Mena, Arkansas on December 23, 1937, the son of Harry F. and Mina Rabb. Following graduation from Acorn High School in 1955, Dick attended the University of Arkansas before entering military service. He served in both the US Army and the US Air Force. It was while stationed at Lincoln Air Base in Nebraska that he met Sarah Jane DeWitt and they married on February 14, 1965 in Omaha. After his discharge from the service in May 1965, he began work as an engineer for Natkin & Co. before later moving to Washington, D.C., where he became the Purchasing Directorate for Northern Natural Systems. In 1970, Dick moved his family to Dallas, TX where he began a 30-year career as Contracting Officer & Specialist with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service. Upon his retirement in 2000, he continued to enjoy ballroom dancing and traveling with his wife and spending time with his family at their lake house in Granbury. Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Jane Rabb; his daughters, Laura and husband Kevin Lee of Arlington, TX, Linda and husband Matt Hickey of Chicago, IL, and son, Thomas Rabb of Dallas, TX as well as his two grandsons, Caden & Garrett Hickey. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3rd, from 6 - 8 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 4th, at 1 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, 1200 South Collins, Arlington, TX 76010.
