Bernhardt, James Franklin (Daddy Frank) Age 80. Born 11/15/32 in Clifton, Texas, the youngest child of August & Birdie Oswald Bernhardt. Passed on 1/3/13 in Las Colinas, Tx Frank is survived by daughter Tammy Cordova (and husband, Shannon Stong) of Lovettsville, Va daughter Julia Faulks (and husband Michael Faulks, who was like a son) of Bedford, Tx., Grandchildren Christopher Cordova, Todd Faulks , Tiffany Hines, and many nieces, nephews, family & friends. Frank was preceded in death by both parents, sister Orelia Thomas, brother Raymond Bernhardt, Sister Eva Newberry Thomas, and brother Calvert Bernhardt. Frank served honorably in the Army during the Korean conflict. He married in 1956 and had what he described as, two beautiful loving daughters. Frank was a gifted self-taught diesel mechanic. Daddy Frank could diagnose, fix or build anything. He kept his girls' cars running during high school and beyond. He rebuilt many cars & trucks over the years, particularly a 66 Pontiac for his girls, and his truck "Old 76", which is still running and was lovingly given to Kenneth Faulks. Frank was a very special man. He worked hard and sacrificed his entire life for his girls who will be forever grateful. He retired to East Tx where he spent many hours working on his place, built a garage and raised vegetables. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had quite a collection of guns and trophies. A graveside service will be held on January 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Clifton, Tx, where he will receive full military honors. His family will miss him terribly but are grateful that his earthly suffering has ended.
