Philip Randall Greenleaf Obituary
Greenleaf, Philip Randall, DDS Age 76 went home to God on December 8, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. Dr. Greenleaf was born October 20, 1936 to Phil and Emma Greenleaf in Rumford, Maine. The family moved to Norway, Maine where Philip was an active athlete, scholar and Boy Scout, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Following in his father's footsteps, Philip attended Northwestern University in Evanston and Chicago. After graduating from dental school, he moved to Dover Air Force Base, where he was a Captain in the United States Air Force. Upon his discharge from the service, Philip moved to Dallas and opened a dental practice in north Dallas where he would see patients for the next 46 years. He was a fixture in his north Dallas neighborhood where he and office manager, Patti Terry, quietly cared for patients who were his extended family. During the last months of his life, he was lovingly cared for by VNA -of Denton. He is survived by his children, Lisa Greenleaf Jordan (Michael) and David Houston Greenleaf (Teresa), grandchildren, Elizabeth Houston Greenleaf, Seth David Greenleaf, and John Philip Jordan, and ex-wife, Debbie Greenleaf. He is preceded in death by parents, Emma and Phil Greenleaf, sister Mary Greenleaf Bryant, first wife Judith Houston Greenleaf Coke, and step-son, Jeffery David Morgan. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Farmers Branch, on Saturday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dallas Cochlear Implant Program.
