Kidder, Bruce Andrew Bruce Andrew Kidder passed away January 18, 2013 following a brief illness. He was born December 15, 1961 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Robert E. and Marjorie Kidder and grew up in Toronto and Wheaton, IL. Bruce received a degree in History from the University of Texas and spent summers working at Camp Olympia in Trinity, Texas. Bruce became a radio broadcaster, first at KFAN/KNAF in Fredericksburg and WOAI in San Antonio and later at KHYI in Plano, where Bruce was the program director and morning drive host. While at KHYI, Bruce was instrumental in starting the Texas Music Revolution music festival that continues to this day and was named Americana Programmer of the Year in 1998. After leaving radio, he moved to Big Lake to teach social studies at Reagan County Middle School. While there, he helped coach football and baseball and was the announcer for the Reagan County Owls football and baseball teams. Bruce is survived by his wife Julie and their children Robert and his wife Rachel, Marshall, and Emily, as well as his brother C. Robert Kidder, his sister Kathy Ross-Kidder and various nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 23 at 5:00 pm at Reagan County Middle School and in Dallas at NorthPark Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 28 at 2:00 pm.
