After retiring in 1987, Lonnie and Dotty traveled extensively and also spent many happy hours at their house at Lake Kiowa, Texas where Lonnie enjoyed fishing. He was a dedicated and conscientious volunteer for over 20 years in a bread ministry effort, collecting bread and other bakery products from area grocery stores to distribute to local food pantries, homeless shelters and churches. Lonnie delighted in spending time with his family, playing bridge, and every year since 1950, playing Santa Claus for family, friends, and strangers.
