Archer, William Clarence TYLER -- William Clarence Archer, 80, died Thursday February 21, 2013, at his home in Tyler, Texas. Graveside Service: A graveside ceremony will take place Friday, March 1, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at the old Arlington Cemetery on Mary Street. Visitation: is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Park-way, Arlington, TX, 76013. Memorials: If desired, memorials may me made to Christ Episcopal Church, 118 South Bois d-Arc, Tyler, TX, 75702, or to First Pres-byterian Church, 230 West Rusk Street, Tyler, TX, 75701. He was born in Dallas on November 16, 1932, to Virginia Mauvelyn Walker and Clarence Jack Archer. Bill attended school in Oak Cliff in Dallas and graduated high school from Pittsburg High School in 1950. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, and then attended Southern Methodist University where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1959. Bill served as a bank director, a deacon in the church, and as chairman of the board of Nelson International. He attended both Christ Episcopal and First Presby-terian Churches of Tyler regularly. Survivors: He is survived by his only sister, Virginia Joyce Jones of Colorado, an only daughter, Julia Ann Archer of Florida, grandchil-dren Colin Weaver from Tennessee, Maura Weaver from Ohio, Caroline Weaver from California; Aunt Shirley Bratcher Knight from Ft. Worth, nephews Bill Bratcher and Brett Bratcher also from Ft. Worth, and also his beloved first cousins, Ken (and wife Alice) Moore and Bobby (and wife Mary) Moore, both from Arlington.
