Wood, L. E. "Woody" L.E. (Woody) Wood of Lubbock, Texas passed away at the age of 90 on March 18, 2013 in Irving, Texas following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Edna Howell Wood and John Wesley Wood. LE was born in Camp Springs, TX August 8, 1922. After graduating from Hobbs High School, class of 1940, he attended North Texas College in Arlington. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marines during WWII. One of his passions was traveling the world. He returned home to work on his family's ranch and married Eva Maxine Vines in 1952. Their marriage endured for 48 years until her passing in 1999. His career as a mechanical engineer in the oil and gas industry spanned over 3 decades until his retirement with Tenneco in 1990. He is survived by three loving daughters, Debra Lynn Wood of Lubbock, Marie Ann Wood of Coppell, TX, Cathy Wood Baudoin of Houston, TX, a brother, Daniel Wood and a sister, Florine Wood Davis, both of Lubbock, TX; and 3 grandsons, Louis Cannon, Frederic Baudoin, and Nicholas Baudoin. The family would like to express our appreciation to Silverado Senior Living Center in Irving, TX for their loving care and support of Woody. Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Sat. March 23, 2013 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, Lubbock with burial following at 3:30 p.m. in the Snyder Cemetery, Snyder.
