Cole, Charles T. Charles Thurmond Cole, JD, 63, passed away at his home in Dallas, Texas on Friday, March 29, 2013. He received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 1971 and Juris Doctor Degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1973. After practicing civil and criminal law in Texas, Charles became a Hearing Judge for the Workman's Compensation Division of the Texas Department of Insurance. He was a member in good standing of the Texas Bar and spoke frequently at the State Bar Annual Advanced Workers Compensation Course. Charles was a retired member of Washington, D.C., based American Red Cross (ARC) Advisory Council on First Aid, Aquatics, Safety, and Preparedness (ACFASP) where he was the first non-medical member and served on the Sub-Council on Resuscitation. An active member at White Rock Community Church, Charles worked with the youth and recently enjoyed sponsoring a trip to see the Dead Sea Scrolls at SWBS in Ft. Worth. He is predeceased by his father, James W. Cole, Jr., and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Mary A. Cole of Dallas; sister, Marilyn (Chris) Jones of Creve Coeur, MO; nephew, Benjamin Cole Jones of Kansas City, MO; niece, Katelyn Jones of Munich, Germany; aunt, Emma Jean (Harrell) Dumas of Port O'Connor, TX; and cousins, Jerry Chevallier of TN, Cecil (Mary Ann) Lowry of Rowlett, TX, Susan Dumas of Fair Oaks, TX, and John Dumas of Port O'Connor, TX. He is also survived by many dear friends and colleagues throughout the state and nation, and maintained a very close friendship with his ex-wife, Lynda Conner of Florida. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at White Rock Community Church with Pastor Douglas Shaffer officiating.
