Berg, Debra Regina Rene (Debbie) Debra Regina Rene Berg (Debbie), 58, went to be with The Lord on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. Born in Temple, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Henry Carl Berg, Jr. and Pauline Bessie Biels Berg. Ms. Berg was retired from retail sales and was a devout member of River Road Baptist Church in Piedmont, South Carolina. Surviving are a brother, Ronnie and his wife Laura of Dallas, Texas; two nieces (Megan and Ashley) and their husbands, (James and Eddie); three grandnieces (Alyx, Amilynn and Isabella), and a grandnephew (Gavin). Debbie, a Texan by birth, fell in love with Greater Greenville, South Carolina in 2005 when she moved here from the Dallas area, so much that she desired to die here surrounded by her many friends. The friends were really her family as they laughed with her, cried with her, helped and cared for her. They opened their arms and welcomed this child of God into their hearts and homes. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors who cared for her and especially Dr. Kathy Christman, Wimberly Cox, her nurse practitioner, and the wonderful staff at the Cancer Center. Also Section 5 D of the Greenville Memorial Hospital. These medical professionals are Godsends and truly care about what they do and making their patients and their families comfortable. Also thanks to the following angels: Darlene and Lee Marley and their sons John and Zachary, who were sent by God to care for Debbie and brought her into their family and home. LeAnn Smart for being there when Debbie needed help. Her church friends and other friends who got her to where she needed to be. All of whom cared deeply for Debbie to help and pray for her. South Carolina is a state filled with Angels from above. The memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at River Road Baptist Church located at 1714 River Road, Piedmont South Carolina, 29673, with visitation following the service. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to The Greenville County , 113 Mills Ave., Greenville, SC 29605. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.thomasmcafee.com.
