Martha Whitehurst Obituary

Whitehurst, Martha Lea Martha Virginia Lea Whitehurst passed away on May 5, 2013. Martha was born in Wills Point TX on January 13, 1917. She graduated Wills Point high school in 1934. She had the honor of representing Wills Point as a Rose Princess in the Tyler Rose Festival. On August 22, 1936 Martha married William Whitehurst and they were blessed with two daughters. After moving to the Park Cities in Dallas, Martha volunteered for the PTA of the Highland Parks Schools, served as the president of the Dallas Accountants Wives Club, fulfilled the role as superintendent of the junior department at Highland Baptist church, and was a member of the Mary Paul book club. She also worked at the Dallas Trade Mart and in private home care for newborns. Martha was a Christian woman who was completely devoted to her family as a wonderful wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and son in law Jerry Bristow. She survived by daughter Anna Lynne Palmer and son in law Jerry and daughter Virginia Bristow; dearest friends, Steve Zareff and Doris Moore; 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
