Bellah, Gordon Gordon Bellah, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2013 at the age of 90. Gordon was born in Saint Jo, Texas, to Alice Gertrude and James Davidson Bellah on May 10, 1923. Gordon honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Guam during WWII and later served in the Korean War. Gordon earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics at North Texas State University where he met the love of his life, Martha Jo Henslee. Gordon and Martha married on June 1, 1948. Gordon taught physics at Frisco High School for several years before enjoying a 37-year electrical engineering career with Texas Instruments. Gordon and Martha lived in Richardson, Texas near Heights Park, where a bench was dedicated in honor of their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Raised during the Great Depression, Gordon valued all of life's gifts. He was self-sufficient and developed a keen interest and expertise in cars and radios, in addition to photography, singing, and gardening. Together with his wife he enjoyed bridge club, traveling, music, square dancing and round dancing. Gordon ministered to others and shared his enduring faith as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson. He was a man of honor and integrity and was a hard-working, loving man of God. Gordon tenderly cared for Martha in his later years. His loving and tender heart will be forever remembered. Gordon's greatest loves were the Lord and his family. He is survived by his wife, Martha Jo Bellah, and their four children: Martha Anne Bellah, Gordon Bellah, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Susan Elizabeth Starling and her husband Winton, and Betty Lou Olson and her husband Grieg. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sam Tower, John Tower and his wife Candace, Rachel Dickerson and her husband Nicholas, Daniel Gonzales, Alan Olson, Jamie Olson, James Bellah and David Bellah. Two great grandchildren, Rebekah Tower and Jordan Tower, are also a part of this beautiful legacy. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating the life of Gordon Bellah will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
