Peggy Whitham Said passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 in The Woodlands, TX. Mrs. Said was born on January 27, 1934 in Wichita Falls, TX to George Warren Whitham, Sr. and Sarah Edith Van Deren Whitham. She graduated from Highland Park High School and attended the University of Texas, Austin. Peggy was married to Saliba S. Said for 41 years until his death in March, 1994. Her four children were raised in University Park where she was a lifelong Episcopalian. She loved music, and caring for rescued collies. After her husband's death, she moved to Santa Fe, NM where she became a devoted sponsor and active volunteer for the Boys & Girls Club for many years. Mrs. Said is survived by son Stephen Said and wife Joan; son Roger Said and wife Ann; daughter Cynthia Mullady and husband Tom; daughter Sarah Thomas and husband Patrick; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Said's name to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Fe, P.O. Box 2403 or 730 Alto Street, Santa Fe, NM 87504. A memorial gathering will be held in Santa Fe, NM on Saturday, September 21, 2013.
