Hendry, Jr., William T. "Bill" Col. (Ret) 1927 - 2013 William T. (Bill) Hendry, Jr., Col. (Ret), age 86 of Rockwall, TX, passed away October 5, 2013. He was born September 1, 1927 in Ft. Smith, AR, to William T. Hendry, Sr. & Laura Isabelle (McHale) Hendry. Bill was a lifelong Catholic. He graduated from Garland High School, Class of 1944 and Texas A&M Class of 1948. Bill proudly served his country and was on active duty during the Korean and Vietnam wars in the United States Army and the National Guard, retiring as a Colonel in 1978. He was a graduate of the U.S. Army Armor School and the Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth, KS. In civilian life, Bill owned and operated Hendry-Northlake Insurance Agency and was a Real Estate Broker for 25 years. In 1954 he married Mary Alice Lott and in 1984 he married Cora Sue Collins, both who passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. Bill is survived by his daughters: Laura Syvrud of Sachse, TX, and Lisa Ezzell of Pearland, TX: sons: Steve Hendry of Richardson, TX, and John Breiner-Hendry of Austin, TX; stepsons: Jim Turnipseed of Garland, TX, and David Turnipseed of Kernersville, NC; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3905 Hickox Rd, Rowlett, TX, with Fr. Danilo Ramos officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30pm that afternoon in the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX. A Rosary will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rowlett Chapel, 3701 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX.
