Stone, Richard Fredrick "Fred" as known by many, was born June 9, 1937 in Webb City, MO and died on November 2, 2013 Dallas, TX. He is survived by wife, Beverly; son, Alex. Other surviving relatives include, Steven H. Clay (brother), Marsha Clay, (sister-in-law); Lee Clay (nephew), wife, Aimee, daughter, Jaida; Lacy Leggit (niece) her husband, Jeffery Leggit; son, William, daughters, Anna Lee, and Caroline. Fred graduated from Woodrow Wilson H.S. in 1955. He then earned a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas in 1959. Fred then entered the officer canidate program in Quantico, VA in hopes of being an officer of the USMC Reserve. Having been honorably discharged due to medical issues, he pursued a career with the City of Dallas Water Department where he worked for thirty years. In retirement, he kept himself busy at his church's woodwork shop by making wooden toys for indigent children. He was also an avid reader of mysteries and biographies. He was a lifelong lover of classical music and had acquired en extensive collection of recordings which he enjoyed frequently. His presence in his home and our lives will be missed but we have many memories to reflect upon. Peace be with you and your families. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held Tues. Nov. 12, 2013 at 10:30 AM at The Northway Christian Church in Dallas with burial at 1:00 PM at DFW National Cemetery.
