Cahill, Dr. Allen Joseph Dr. Allen Joseph Cahill passed away February 18, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. He was born July 6, 1931 in Deerborn, Michigan. His infectious laughter, love of family and friends, and keen competitive spirit ranging from cards to horses will be missed dearly. His education included the Congregation of Passion Seminary in Chicago, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Detroit, and an MD from Loyola Medical School in Chicago. There he met Helen Byle and they married in September 1962. Al completed his residency at The University of Iowa followed by a Child Psychiatry residency at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas ,Tx. Al helped countless children as a board-certified Child Psychiatrist, served as President of the Texas Child Psychiatry Board, taught at Southwestern Medical School, and authored works in child psychiatry. He served as Medical Director of Richland Hills Hospital. Al is survived by his wife Helen, brother Jim, daughter Becky and her husband Dan Carter, and grandchildren, John, Allison, Katie, and Grace. For the continued advancement of science and medical research, Al requested to be a part of the Willed Body Program at Southwestern Medical School. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be directed to UT Southwestern, PO Box 910888, Dallas, Tx 75391-0888 in support of medical student education.
