Barbara,
I just learned of Bob's death today and am very sorry that I never kept in touch with Bob after my days at Landon Associates. He gave me my first job at Landon as a favor to my Dad and was just a wonderful person to work with and for. I have spent the last 30 years working for the Philadelphia Inquirer and could not have even gotten the job here without Bob's guidance and help in my first job. He was a wonderful person.

I will remember him at Mass on a weekly basis and pray for you and your family.

Dear Barbara,

Thank you for speaking with me today about Bob, and for your kind words during this time of intense grief. I want to say once again how much I enjoyed all of my visits with Bob, to thank you for our friendship, and to wish for lessening of your grief as soon as time and memory will permit. Knowing the two of you I can readily imagine the love and support of your friends and family, but if you can think of anything I can help with I'm a phone call away. And remember 6 PM sharp!

Love,
Dr. Doug Smith

Dear Barbara and Family,

It's been many years since we were all neighbors on Westgate Drive, but I have fond memories or those times. I recall Bob as a warm and humorous man who enjoyed his friends and neighbors. My late parents and brother would have wanted to extend their condolences along with mine.

To Michael and his family and from all of us at GENALYTIX, we send our prayers at this difficult time of loss with our heartfelt thanks to a father and husband we did not know who served his family and country and certainly left a legacy of memories and pride that will be celebrated as the years progress. We leave the following sentiments and again our condolences.

"Do not stand at my memorial and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush of far-off birds in circling flight. I am the star shine of the night.
I am in every flower that blooms, I am in still and empty rooms. I am the child that yearns to sing, I am in every lovely thing. Do not stand at my memorial and cry, I am not there - I did not die. Attributed to Mary Elizabeth Frye (1905-2004) The GENALYTIX Family.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your husband Barbara, and for Mike, Steve, Tom and John, the loss of your father. I last saw Bob and Barbara at a gathering in New London at Kris Crawford Edward's home last year. It was so good to see Bob and Barbara after many years. I talked to Bob at length and he was much himself, though a bit less. We had a good talk. Kris happened to call me this evening and I told her I had read Bob's obituary in this morning's "New York Times." Kris, too, was caught off guard. She and I recalled our
experiences with Bob and Barbara, and Bob's love of the seas. We also recalled Barbara revealing her secret of using frozen hot dogs pieces to pull in the bluefish when they were running off the rocks at Rowayton Beach. I am thankful I had the opportunity to see Bob only last year. He had a great life. He will be missed. Sincerely, David Dyer, previously of Rowayton, Milford now for 32 years.

Mike,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. What an active and involved man your father was. I am sure he was surrounded by those he loved. Having recently lost a parent, i can share with you that it is a time filled with both sadness and revelation. Your father is immortalized in you, and those whose lives he touched... i hope you can all find some solace in that.

Mrs.Bair, Mike, Steve, Tom & John, Knowing your family has been a raucous adventure in love and laughter with Mr. B at the helm. He weathered rough waters but stayed the course with all of you as the wind in his sales. He left a wide wake in his path. It was wonderful sharing even a bit of the trip! Love to all of you. I will miss him!
