Catherine "Kay" Schumaecker, a 56-year resident of Darien passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Catherine Marie Stuart was born May 19, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a 1940 graduate of Harper High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She met her husband of 65 years, J.W. "Bill" Schumaecker while working at the American Can Company in Chicago. Bill's job brought them to Darien where they raised four children.
