News Death Notice
ALEXANDER, N. Lucille (Powell) 89, of Montgomery County, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Sycamore Glen Retirement Center. She was born in Estill County, KY on March 7, 1921, the daughter of the late Clayborn and Lillie (Rawlins) Powell. Lucille enjoyed taking care of her home, doing yard work, word search puzzles and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Dennis Rose of Dayton, OH; three grandchildren Kirk and Marcie Rose of Medina, OH, Chad and Darby Rose of Athens, AL, Shelly and Terry Macduff of Springboro, OH; and six great grandchildren: Katlyn, Nicholas, Parker, Ryleigh Rose and Ashley and Justin Vincent. Also is survived by two sisters: Clayberta and husband K. Gamble of Richmond, KY and Faye Winkler of Irvine, KY and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dudley Alexander July 13, 2004 and a grandson Baby Boy Rose June 8, 1964 and four sisters: Essie Abney, Dorthy King, Tressie Woolery and Wanda Turpin. Special thanks to Sycamore Glen Retirement Centers staff and Hospice of the Miami Valley for their nurturing care of Lucille. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2010 at Tobias Funeral Home Belmont Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at Tobias Funeral Home, 648 Watervliet Ave., Dayton, OH, Pastor Chris Winkler officiating.
