News Death Notice
LAKE, Ronald E. Age 70, of West Alexandria and formerly of Germantown, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. The son of the late Robert & Kathryn (Blankenship) Lake, Ron retired from the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors. He enjoyed hunting, laughing, friends and, most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ron also served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. On December 29, 2004, he was preceded in death by beloved wife Shirley Ann, whom he married June 20, 1964. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sister Phyllis Egan and her husband Richard. Survived by children Kimberly Wilder & husband John of Brookville; Sara Preston & husband Nathan of Springboro; Robin Collins & husband John of Enon; and Jamie Lake & wife Jennifer of Brookville: grandchildren Andrew and Caleb Lake; Alex Preston; Emmalyn and Grant Collins; Carter, Samantha and William Lake: sister Doris Hunter & husband John of Germantown: and a host of special friends. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Justin Weigand presiding. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Ron's memory. Burial Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
