News Death Notice
PLANCE, Robert C. of Kettering passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Oak Creek Terrace. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Oak Creek Terrace and the Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of Bob. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Carol and son Ken, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Jerry McInnes of NC., and sister-in-law Janice Loschert of GA., many nieces and nephews and their families. Bob proudly served in the Army during WWII in the Phillipines and Japan. He retired from Reynolds and Reynolds in 1985 after 42 years. Bob was an avid tennis player especially doubles, winning many events in the county, YMCA and at Virginia Hollinger. He was inducted in the Dayton Tennis Hall of Fame in 1984. Bob was a longtime member of Far Hills Church and enjoyed serving as a greeter. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Far Hills Community Church 5800 Clyo Rd; with Pastor Tony Chester officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420 in Bob's memory. Arrangements completed by TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I worked with him at R&R for 18 years. He had a great sense of humor.

We were saddened by Bob's passing but at the same time we rejoice in knowing he is now with our Lord and no longer suffers. Bob was one of the first people that we met when we came to Far Hills Church over 23 years ago - he greeted us at the door and continued to do so until his health would no longer allow. Carol, our prayer is for you and family to receive God's peace and comfort.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Enjoyed working with him at Reynolds & Reynolds for many years. He always had a smile on his face!
