Family-Placed Obituary

ALLUM, Ethan E. (Gene) 84, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2008. He was born September 30, 1923 in Boonville, New York, the son of Bernie and Ole Allum. Ethan served with the Army Air Corp as a Staff Sergeant and Aerial Gunner in WW II. He received the Air Medal for courageous service in combat while participating in an aerial flight over Borgen Bay, New Britain. He retired from National Cash Register after 30 years of service. Ethan was an avid sports fan, state table tennis champion, and enjoyed fishing and cards. He was a member of University Baptist Church in Beavercreek and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ethan is survived by his wife, Betty Allum; daughters, Pamela Wyatt (Rodney), Adele (Patricia) Maas (Ric), and son, Gareth Allum (Mary Ann). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Wright, Angela Stull (Jeff), Robin Allen (Ted), Justin Stallard (Deanna), Elisabeth Johns (Donnie), Jessica Boughton (Ian), Joshua Allum and great grandchildren, Owen, Charlotte and Oliver Stull, Renee Allen and Evan and Natalie Stallard. Friends will be received from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Saturday, February 9, 2008 with a memorial service immediately following at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with Pastor Charlie Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens on Rt. 48 in Clearcreek Township. Gene was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
