DRAZER Sr., Byron Gene*  
News Death Notice DRAZER, Sr., Byron Gene Age 82, passed away June 29, 2016 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born to the late Donald and Nancy Drazer on December 12, 1933 in Laporte, Indiana. Gene was a veteran in the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. He worked in automobile sales for over 50 years. Gene started out in the car business with his own used car dealership and later entered the Dayton area at Autobahn VW. He also worked for Morman Pontiac and later retired from Reichard Buick. Gene is survived by his life partner Nellie Goings; five children Lori (Bobby) Taschner, Byron G. (Penny) Drazer Jr., Debra Weaver, Daniel (Jeannie Carr) Drazer, Lisa (Martin) Hoeber; 16 grandchildren Leah, Ashley, Nicole, Brittney, Bryant, Christina, Lindsey, Zachary, Jacqueline, Aaron, Carley, Starri, Daniel, Jacob, Layna, Scarlett; 7 great grandchildren and brother Harold (Nan) Drazer. A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 12pm-1pm with a funeral service to follow at 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.

DUNAWAY, Dillard* - Fairborn  
News Death Notice DUNAWAY, Dillard Age 96, of Fairborn, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Patriot Ridge Community. He was born the son of William & Arizona (Keith) Dunaway on June 10, 1920 in Jackson, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Paul Douglas Dunaway, brothers Nick, Bill, Gentry, Orville, and Virgil, sister Maycel Davis and a great great grand baby Addi. Dillard is survived by the love of his life for 66 wonderful and devoted years Shirley, daughters Vickie (Darrell) Center, Carolyn "Button" (Donald "Doc") Columber, and Pamela Shaver, a son Don (Anita Gail) Dunaway, sisters Pauline Hughes, Faye (Harlan) Fugate, and Verna Casey, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Dillard worked for the CCC that took him around the country. After coming home he joined the United States Army two months prior to Pearl Harbor. He then served proudly for his country on both the Asian-Pacific front and the European Front entering on October 7, 1941 and honorably discharged on October 28, 1945. When he came home he continued his working days as a farmer, then a coal miner and finally as a saw operator at Dayton Forge Heat Treating until he retired in 1983. Dillard enjoyed and made many a friend walking every day 3 to 5 miles at Community Park East for 27 years. Dillard served his Lord faithfully. He was a member of Pillar of Truth Church in Dayton for 13 years and a loyal member of Victory Temple Church for 34 years. Dillard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be missed by all who love him. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 5PM to 7PM and on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 11AM to Noon at Victory Temple Church 2443 Valle Greene Dr. Fairborn, Ohio where services will follow on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 12PM at the church with Pastor Ancil Carter and Pastor Tim Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Byron Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff of Patriot Ridge Community & Hospice of Miami Valley for the exceptional care they were given during this time. News Death Notice DeGROAT, Lester L. Age 94 of Farmersville, OH passed away June 29, 2016. He was born to the late Robert and Edna (Crout) DeGroat in Middletown, OH. Lester retired from Koenig Equipment in Germantown and worked hard as a farmer throughout his life. Along with his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his first wife Eileen, his second wife Veda, and his daughter Patricia Rich. He is survived by his son Rick (Donna) DeGroat, 6 step-sons Don, Roger, Bob, Randy, Tom, and Chris Fogle, his brother Bill (Wanda) DeGroat, 2 grandchildren Duane (Ashley) and Brian (Nichole), and 3 great grandchildren Aubree, Adelynn, and Riley. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10:00am at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, 29 N Main Street in downtown historic Germantown with interment immediately following at Highland Cemetery in Miamisburg. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1 from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Farmersville Fire and Rescue.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mary Margaret Deardorff; brothers Donald and Leon Deardorff. Survived by his children John Leonard (Sandy) Deardorff, Margaret Mary (Frank) Spiegel, Agnes Marie (Ronald) Henner, Joseph Francis Deardorff, CPPS, Mary Ann (Dale) Osborne, Paul Anthony (Debbie) Deardorff, Thomas Michael (Celeste) Deardorff and James Vincent Deardorff; sister Arlene Stone; sister-in-law Lehrine Deardorff; grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. Roy formerly worked at Price Brothers Co. and was a Deacon at St. Helen Catholic Church. Family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, from 6-8 pm Friday, July 1, 2016. Prayers will be 9:15 AM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
