KECK, Lawrence Daniel* - Centerville  
News Death Notice KECK, Lawrence Daniel Age 83, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He worked for Mutual of Omaha for many years. He was an avid supporter of the Washington Redskins and the University of Dayton Flyers. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend. In addition to his parents, Edward and Sarah Keck, Larry was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Victor, Jack, and James Keck and sister Helen Keck Gross. He is survived by his brother Thomas (Joann) Keck and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Larry served with the US Marines during the Korean War. He was voted 'Most Gentlemanly' in high school was kind and generous throughout his life. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Joseph Church, 411 E Second St, Dayton, OH. Family will greet friends at the church one hour before the funeral. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Labre Indian School. KIRBY, CMS USAF (Ret) Wayne E.* - Dayton  
News Death Notice KIRBY, CMS USAF (Ret.) Wayne E Age 90, passed away August 20, 2015 at Laurelwood Senior Living. Born in Cherokee, OK 1925 to parents, Pearl and John T. Kirby. Enlisted 1943 in U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in European theatre as a tail gunner in B-24 bombers. He qualified at the AF Fire Fighter Training School in 1947 and followed that career until retirement. He served as the Base Fire Chief during Korean Conflict, 2 tours in Vietnam plus assignments in Europe, N. Africa, and numerous U.S. bases. After 30 years of service he retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1974. He was employed by Ohio as a Deputy State Fire Marshall for 17 years serving counties in SW Ohio. He volunteered at the Air Force Museum, Wright-Patt Medical Center and Kettering Lathrem Senior Center. He was a member of Tokyo Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shrine, American Legion Post 0526, and many Fire Chief Associations in SW Ohio. He is survived by wife, Jean, whom he met at Mt. Fuji, Japan. They married in Tokyo in 1955. Also survived by sons, Scott (Beth) and Jeff (Crystie); a sister, Betty; brothers Robert and Jack; and grandchildren, Steven, Leah, Kevin and Riley. Predeceased by siblings, James, John and Rosalie. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave, Kettering with a memorial service following at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd., Dayton, OH 45459. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles (Lucille) Barker; and his grandfather, Hobert King. Sean is survived by his wife, Nikki; his parents, Kenneth and Mary Ann; two daughters, Katlyn and Jozi King; two sons, Corbin and Mason King; a brother, Justin (Jeni) King; nephew, Brody; niece, Elise; and his grandmother, Uneeda Phillips. He is also survived by numerous family and friends. Sean will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
