Passed away February 26, 2015 at the age of 50. News Death Notice KARKADOULIAS, Eleftherios N. Age 79, of Dayton, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at his residence. Eleftherios was a talented artist and sculptor, was the Owner of Karkadoulias Eleftherios Bronze Art Company in Cincinnati, member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Dayton and AHEPA in Cincinnati. Eleftherios shared his passion for life and loving with all who crossed his path. He is survived by his wife, Helen Alex Karkadoulias; daughters & sons-in-law, Kathy & Barry Dingler of Cincinnati, Anitsa & Larry Zalants of Mason; step son & his wife, Spero & Audrey Alex of CA; grandchildren, George, Mercene & Jamie Zalants, Helena & George Alex; 2 sisters, brother & sister-in-law, many nieces & nephews, all of Greece; and many other relatives & special friends. Funeral service 11 AM Monday, March 2, 2015 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park North with Father Mark P. Emroll officiating. Interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM Sunday at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike. Trisagion Prayers 2:30 PM Sunday. Friends and family will also be received at the church on Monday from 10 AM until service time. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the many doctors who cared for Eleftherios, also The Hospice of Dayton and Fidelity Home Care. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Annunciation Greek Church Memorial Fund or The Hospice of Dayton in Eleftherios's memory.

News Death Notice KASSNER, Bess L. Age 101 of Riverside, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Widow's Home, Dayton. She was born in Dayton, Tennessee on June 6, 1913 the daughter of Forest & Alice Worthington. She was a member of the North Central Baptist Church, Dayton. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Honeycutt, grandson Michael Kiser, great grandchildren Marie (Philip) Reale and Michael Ross (Krista) Kiser, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several brothers and sister. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home with Bobby Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Margaret Kalvaitis; grandson, Benjamin Knarr, and by her 7 beloved dogs, "Sonja", "Logan", "Annie", "Boomer", "Miranda", "Sophie", and most recently her faithful companion, "Chip". She is survived by her best friend, lover, and husband of 39 years, Robert Knarr; 4 loving children, Deron, Darryl, Teresa, and Tina; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Damien, Nicholas, Krysta, Kiersten, Bryce, and Fox, and her 3 remaining dogs, "Danny", "Jenny", and "Charlie Brown". Born in Holton, MI, Nancy worked as a civilian employee for both Wright Patterson and McClellan Air Force Bases. Nancy was generous and kind hearted. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She spent 20 years as a member of the Boxer Rescue. She dedicated herself to finding homes for, training, and caring for rescue boxers. Her charitable efforts, loving smile, and sense of humor will be missed. Friends may gather from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Nancy will be put to rest at the Sherman Township Cemetery in Fremont, MI with her mother and father.
