News Death Notice AKERS, Glenda Age 66, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015. She was the daughter to the late Ira and Virgie West. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Akers. Glenda is survived by her children, Sandy Sexton, Bradley (Bobbie) Akers, and Elizabeth R. Reynolds; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 brothers, as well as numerous other family and friends. Family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH where a service will follow at 1:30 pm. ALBRECHT, Joan (Knoll)* - Dayton  
News Death Notice ALBRECHT, (Knoll), Joan Age 86, of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 20, 2015. Joan was born in Terre Haute, IN. She is predeceased by her loving parent's Dewey and Bernice Knoll, her brother Jack Knoll and her soulmate, partner, and dearly beloved husband John. Joan leaves a legacy of three children and their spouses; James and Diane (Benza) Albrecht of Cincinnati, Joyce Albrecht and Patrick Flynn of Boston and Joseph Albrecht of Dayton. There are four grandchildren; Norman Albrecht, Mitch (his wife Lauren) Albrecht of Cincinnati, Jonathan and Jacqueline Flynn of Boston and two great grandchildren Liviana and Arabelle, children of Mitch and Lauren. Joan was a teacher through and through; both as her profession and in her daily life. She received her undergrad degree from Indiana State University and continued her education at Wright State University, where she received additional certification and a Master's Degree. She continues to teach with the donation of her body to the Wright State Medical School. Joan was very involved in the community and her church. When she first moved to Dayton with John they were founding members of First Christian Church in Kettering, they migrated to Central Christian Church and Joan ended her spiritual journey with the Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. In her lifetime she loved spending time with family, theater, traveling, reading, bridge, walking, tennis, bird-watching, Mexican train domino game, her beloved dog April, cats and summer sunsets. A Celebration of Joan's life will be held at Central Christian Church at 1200 Forrer Blvd, Kettering, Ohio on Friday, August 21 at 7pm. Light refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations for the continued care of her handicapped son Joseph Albrecht will gladly be accepted. ALBRIGHT, Glenwood A.* - Dayton  
News Death Notice ALBRIGHT, Glenwood A. 97 years of Centerville Ohio passed away Monday, July 27th, 2015 at Miami Valley Hospital. Glenwood was born in Germantown, Ohio on May 4th, 1918 to Glen and Mary E. Albright who preceded him in death. Glenwood is survived by his sister, Dorothy Protsman, many nieces and nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Albright, two brothers: John F. Albright and Richard (Gloria) Albright and Nephew Gary Albright. Glenwood retired as a Finance District Manager. Glenwood was a proud Veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps. Glenwood was also a long time member of the Dayton Antioch Shriners and was also a Free Mason. Per his request there will be no showing or service. Cremation and interment at a later date. ALPERN, Betty Lou (Goddard)* - Martins Ferry  
News Death Notice ALPERN (Goddard), Betty Lou 86, of Englewood, OH formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at her residence. She was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late John Q. and Irene (Paugh) Goddard. Betty was a long time member of Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, OH. Betty had been in a nursing home since December 2014, and worked tirelessly in order to return to her home. She was fortunate to live her last several weeks in the comforts of her home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Alpern. Surviving are her sister, Lois Campbell, nephews; Kip (Nancy), Kevin (Linda) and Jon (Pam) and step-sons; Barry and Sandy Alpern. Visitation will be held at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday, July 31, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of services at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joe Ellis officiating. ANDRES, Anne Frances Bancroft* - Dayton  
News Death Notice ANDRES, Anne Frances Bancroft 82, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Wellington of Dayton, after a longterm illness. Born in 1932 to parents Clellon and Kathleen Bancroft in Watertown, NY, Anne moved to Dayton in 1951 after graduating from Watertown's Immaculate Heart Academy. She was employed by Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where she met her husband, Richard. In 1953, they moved to the up-and-coming suburb of Kettering, where she raised her family and lived until 2010, when she moved into the Wellington facility. Anne enjoyed working for many years as a real estate agent in the Dayton area for Big Hill Realty, Gateway Realty, and Timbercreek Realty. She served her community as an elected official for more than ten years, holding the office of precinct captain for the Montgomery County Republican Party. Her joys in life included bowling, gardening, the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, and most of all, her beloved grandchildren. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Richard Grant Andres in 2007 and her siblings, John Bancroft and Vincent Bancroft. Survivors include siblings, Marita DeLisle, William Bancroft, and Daniel Bancroft, and her children, daughters, Robin Andres (and husband Phil Pochon) of Zionsville, IN, Deb Dailey (and husband Brian Dailey) of Kettering, OH; and her son Michael Andres (and wife Nicole) of Chatham, NJ. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Felicity Pochon, Christopher Pochon, Jay Dailey, Jessica Dailey, Matthew Andres, and Avery Andres, and two great- grandchildren, Simon Tackett and Lilly Wilbur. Service will be private, with interment at David's Cemetery in Kettering, OH. Contributions in Anne's memory may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420. ARNOLD, Raymond Morris* - Columbus  
News Death Notice ARNOLD, Raymond Morris Of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 26, 2015 at the age of 95. He was born in Irwin, Ohio to the late Henry M. and Bertha (Lambert) Arnold. He married the late Mary S. Arnold on July 14, 1945 and together celebrated 68 years of happiness. They met in elementary classrooms as children and rekindled a friendship through correspondence in WWII. Ray used the G.I. Bill to earn his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University and enjoyed his tenure as a teacher and principle with Lebanon City Schools for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0888, the Church of the Redeemer, and The Ohio State University Alumni Association (55 years). Raymond is survived by his daughter, Karen S. Arnold of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; son, James W. Arnold (Sally Digges) of Eastham, Massachusetts; granddaughters, Jesse D. Arnold (Chris Cridler) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Megan A Standing (Patrick L. Standing III) of Sudbury, Massachusetts; great-granddaughters, Eleanor Lee Arnold Cridler of Baltimore, Maryland and Abigail Mary Standing, Virginia S. Standing, and Emma Grace Standing of Sudbury, Massachusetts. He was greatly loved and will be missed, but will forever be in our hearts! Graveside service will be held 11:30 A.M. Born December 15, 1938 in Rocky Branch, KY, she was a daughter of the late Orville & Florence (Stephens) Burton. She had worked 25 years at Findley Industries and 7 years for Sugar Creek Packing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on May 22, 2010 by husband Robert E. Bales, whom she married December 24, 1963. Marie's family was everything to her. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Richard is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Michael, Emily, Zachary, David, Samuel, Sophia, SSgt Matthew Barnes, and Jordan Weaver; sister, Mary Bohmer, sisters-in-law, Pat Barnes of Ridge Manor, Florida, Helen Nichols of Franklin, OH, Suzie Crowley of Huntsville, TN, Laura Crigger of Fairborn, and Eva Crigger of Gassaway, WV; brother-in-law, Rev.
