News Death Notice

PAYNE, Anna Mae (Mack) age 90 of Dayton, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Anna was born April 21, 1924 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Kender) Mack. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Anna proudly served her country in the US Women's Army Air Corps. during WWII. She graduated from Roosevelt High School Class of 1942. Anna retired from Lucas Ledex in Vandalia, OH in 1989 after 25 years of service. She led an active lifestyle as a swimming instructor, bowler, softball player and was the 1941 Dayton Women's Table Tennis Champion. Anna's favorite activity was spending time with her family fishing in Canada. Mrs. Payne is survived by her son, Mark (Karen) Payne; son-in-law, Rick Cornett; 4 grandchildren, Melissa, Lisa, Shane and Megan; 5 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Payne; daughter, Linda Cornett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 5401 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415, Fr. Timothy Knepper, C.PP.S celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6-8 PM Monday, August 18, 2014 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr., at N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415.
