News Death Notice

HARPER, Barry L. age 62, of Northridge, formerly of Springboro, passed away June 24, 2013. He was born March 5, 1951 in Springfield to the late Josepheus and Eloise Harper. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by grandson, Dustin Griffith; 3 sister-in-laws; and 3 brother-in-laws. Barry is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dorie Harper; son, Brian Millward; daughter, Carrie (Sean) Ayers; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo (Denny) Medlin; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Barry was a friend of Bill W's for 29 years, where he gained many friends through this fellowship. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 5-7 pm. Barry fought a long hard battle with Huntington's Chorea Disease. If desired, contributions may be made in Barry's memory to the Huntington's Chorea Foundation, The Dayton VA Hospice or to The Hospice of Dayton. The family would like to send a special thank you to all of the staff at the VA Hospice for the loving care they gave to Barry during the last months of his life.
