Beverly A. (Murphy) COOK


News Death Notice

COOK, Beverly A. (Murphy) Of Centerville, passed away Tuesday July 30, 2013 at her home. She was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Dayton to Betty June (Bethard) and James Francis Murphy. Bev was strong-willed and fiercely protective. She loved NASCAR, particularly Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. She enjoyed seek-n-find puzzles, tootsie rolls and root beer barrels, and working in her flower garden. Most of all, Bev loved her grandchildren. She will be remembered as well for making good chili and dirt pudding. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffery Herbst and daughter Kellie Herbst. Bev is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roy, son Patrick Cook (Dorothy) of Kettering, 3 daughters LeAnn Zavakos of Atlanta, GA, Jamie Cooper of Detroit, MI, and Mary Cook of Kettering, 8 grandchildren Joshua, Sean, Kristen, Tyler, Nick, Mallory, Brooklyn, and Rachel. The family will receive friends Saturday August 3 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (noon) at CONNER & KOCH, 92 W. Franklin St. (S.R. 725), Bellbrook 937-848-6651. A celebration of her life will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Brian Koch officiating. Burial in Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens.
